How capacity and room class are worked out

Seats are counted along a table that leaves room for the screen at the front and walkways around the chairs, allowing about 0.75 m per person. The room class follows Microsoft’s Teams Rooms room sizes, from focus rooms up to large rooms, and sets the type of video system that suits it.

Use it as a planning guide. Furniture, doors, columns and windows can all change the real number of seats.

Questions

How many people fit in a meeting room?

Allow about 0.75 m of table edge per person, plus walkways of around 0.9 m behind chairs. A 6 × 4.5 m room typically seats 8 to 10.

What are Teams Rooms room sizes?

Microsoft groups rooms as focus, small, medium and large, by floor dimensions. Larger classes need more microphones, more cameras and usually two screens.

When do I need a modular system rather than a video bar?

Video bars suit small and medium rooms. Large rooms usually need separate cameras, ceiling microphones and speakers to cover everyone.
