Why certification end dates matter
Microsoft and Zoom certify meeting room devices for a set period. When certification ends, a device can stop receiving platform updates and support, so buying one close to its end date shortens its useful life. This checker shows the end date where one is published, and flags devices ending within nine months.
Teams Rooms on Windows systems are certified without a published end date. Some microphones and panels are certified as part of a maker’s room kit rather than on their own.
Questions
Where does this data come from?
From Microsoft’s and Zoom’s published certified device lists, checked in October 2026. Dates marked as estimated come from the maker’s announcements.
What happens when certification ends?
The device may stop receiving updates for that platform. Check whether the maker plans to renew it before buying.
Is a Teams-certified device also certified for Zoom?
Not automatically. Many devices are certified for both, but each platform certifies separately, so check each one.
